Self-Healing Intelligence™
Most operations are built to be restarted, not to be repaired. SHI™ is the CEXRES framework for systems that notice their own failures, locate the cause, close the loop and prove it — with humans auditing the record instead of carrying the pager.
Why repair beats restart
A restart clears the symptom and keeps the defect. The cost shows up later as a repeat incident with a larger blast radius, and as the slow erosion of trust that follows anything a customer saw fail twice. Self-healing is not about uptime theatre — it is about converting every failure into a permanent guard.
The four dimensions
SHI™ scores a system on four weighted dimensions. Weights are fixed across engagements so scores are comparable between systems, environments and cycles.
Detection
Does the system know it is broken before the customer does?
Detection measures the coverage and latency of failure signals: uptime and error monitoring, transaction reconciliation, payment-channel health, integrity checks on data pipelines, and business-level anomalies such as a drop in confirmed orders. Detection without coverage is guesswork — the weight is highest because a failure that is never seen can never be fixed.
- —Endpoint and route availability probes
- —Payment reconciliation against provider records
- —Channel-level health on every payment rail
- —Business anomaly signals, not just HTTP errors
Diagnosis
Can the system locate the cause, not just the symptom?
Diagnosis measures how quickly a signal becomes an attributable cause: correlation across layers, blast-radius estimation, and separation of genuine defects from transient noise. A system that restarts blindly scores high on repair and low on diagnosis — and repeats the same outage.
- —Layer-by-layer attribution (edge, render, API, data, payment)
- —Distinction between transient noise and repeatable defect
- —Blast-radius estimate before any remediation runs
- —Recorded root cause attached to every incident
Repair
Does recovery happen without a human being paged?
Repair measures the share of incidents closed by automated action: retries with backoff, failover to a secondary rail, cache invalidation, redeploy of a known-good build, and reconciliation jobs that settle what webhooks missed. Repair is scored on outcomes, not on the existence of a runbook.
- —Automated retry and failover paths per dependency
- —Idempotent reconciliation instead of manual re-entry
- —Bounded remediation that cannot cascade
- —Human escalation only when automated repair is exhausted
Verification
Is the repair proven, and does the system learn from it?
Verification measures whether a repair is confirmed by an independent signal — a re-run probe, a reconciled ledger, a passing lifecycle test — and whether the incident becomes a permanent guard. Unverified repair is indistinguishable from a silent regression.
- —Post-repair probe re-run and comparison to baseline
- —Ledger and order-state confirmation after settlement
- —Regression guard added for every repeat incident
- —Incident log retained with cause, action and proof
Reading the index
The four weighted dimensions produce a single 0–100 index. Bands describe behaviour under failure, not marketing maturity.
Failures are discovered by customers. Recovery is manual and improvised.
Monitoring exists, but every incident needs a human to interpret and act.
Known failure modes self-correct. Novel failures still escalate.
Detection, repair and verification run closed-loop. Humans audit, not operate.
Three operating tiers
The framework is the same at every tier; what changes is how much of the loop CEXRES operates for you. Commercial terms follow the RAAS™ model — you pay for delivered results, on daily, weekly, monthly, hourly or per-use cycles. No annual contracts.
Assess
A full SHI™ audit: every dimension scored 0–100 with evidence attached, a ranked failure-mode register, and a remediation sequence ordered by blast radius. Output is a diagnosis, not a promise.
- +SHI™ score with per-dimension breakdown
- +Failure-mode register with severity
- +Remediation sequence and owners
Operate
Continuous operation of the healing loop: monitoring coverage maintained, incidents diagnosed and repaired under the protocol, and the SHI™ index re-scored every cycle so improvement is measured rather than asserted.
- +24/7 detection and automated repair
- +Incident log with root cause and proof of repair
- +Monthly SHI™ re-score and trend
Embed
The healing loop is installed inside the client's own stack, with CEXRES frameworks governing detection thresholds, repair authority and verification gates. Scoped per environment; commercial terms set per engagement.
- +Loop installed in client infrastructure
- +Repair authority matrix and guard suite
- +Quarterly audit against the SHI™ model
Tier pricing is quoted per engagement against the RAAS™ ladder. See the pricing ladder →
How SHI™ connects to the stack
SHI™ is the reliability layer. It detects and repairs; the Agentic™ engine runs the workflow; the Zero-Human Protocol™ defines who is accountable when automation acts; Self-Evolving™ turns each incident into a better rule. Diagnosis scores the current state, RAAS™ meters the outcome.
Find the first failure you are not seeing
A diagnosis maps your detection coverage, repair authority and verification gaps in minutes — and returns a ranked sequence instead of a generic checklist.
